The problem about statistics

Statistically, there are about nine men for every woman in the world. This is based on a survey of the Holiday Inn breakfast room this morning.

  1. I think the worse problem about statistics is that they should be used by only statisticians but they aren’t. They can be harder than some of high level math :), yet statistics as a science fails to show that complexity to people.

How many people using statistics in their daily jobs have solid knowledge about probability theory, sampling distribution, standard deviation, correlation and causation, statistical significance, and much more? Not to mention solid knowledge about statistical methods.
